Music Throwback #1

A few days ago I decided to make a spotify list for my all time favorite songs. Which means songs from the past and songs now a days. While I was writing down some songs, I got the idea to do a Music Throwback blogpost. In every blogpost I will talk about 1 song I used to listen to, but still love!

The first song of this series is from Yves Larock and it is called Rise Up. This song was released in 2008, back in the days it was my summer tune and I watched the videoclip over and over again. Just to listen to this song. When I heard this song on the radio a few days ago, I immediatly started to sing along. I still knew all the words. This song gives me a summervibe and hopefully the weather will be better soon, so I can enjoy this song more!

I Love Music Tag.

As you probably noticed last Friday nothing came online, that was because I didn’t feel like posting anything. Today I have a new blogpost for you: I love Music Tag.

Do you have an IPod, Mp3 or….?

I used to have an Mp3, but a few years ago I decided to buy an IPod. I still use this iPod once in a while, but not as much as I used to. I use my Phone or my IPad most of the time, because I have spotify on it.

Can you play any instruments?

Sadly, no I don’t. I actually want to learn to play the guitar and hopefully I will get to do that this year.

Whats your favourite band/singer?

Yes, but it is actually  not one band or singer. I just love to much different music and I actually do love a lot of singers and bands. But I think my all time favourite bands and singers are: All Time Low, Linkin Park, Bastille and Sergey Lazarev.

Do you have an all time favourite album?

Yes I do. That is Linkin Park – Living Things! This album made me listen to them again.

Favorite song?

Favourite song. I have to many favorite songs at the moment. I really can’t choose, but if you want to know my favourite songs from each month you should check out my Music Of The Month blogposts at the end of the month

Have you ever entertained for an audience?

No, not really…

Favourite album cover?

Have you ever written a song?

No, I am not that creative sadly.

If you could sing with any artist, who would it be and why?

It would definitly be with All Time Low, because these boys are so much fun! It would be a party to sing with them.

My Favourite Music Videos

Today I decided to talk about my favourite Music videos. I have several Music videos that I really like.

All Time Low – Somethings Gotta Give.

When I saw this video for the first time I was confused. Because in the beginning I didn’t understand why everyone was scared when they saw Alex. After seeing the whole video I understood it.

Sergey Lazarev – Tv or Radio.

When I first saw this video I couldn’t stop laughing, because this is so funny. It is my favourite Sergey Video. The song is good, but not as good as Sergeys normal songs.

Panic! At The Disco – The Ballad of Mona Lisa.

I love the style of this video and I believe this is my favourite Panic! At The Disco video of all time. Emperor’s New Clothes is a close second.

Fall Out Boy – Thanks For The Memories.

My first Fall Out Boy video and song that I heard from them. This video will be known for their apes.

Black Veil Brides – Goodbye Agony.

I really love the apocalypse vibe in this video. It feels like this video could have been out of The Walking Dead. The only thing that is missing are the zombies. This is my favourite song from their latest album.

Q1: What does music mean to you?

Music means everything to me and because it means so much for me I decided to get a musical note tattoo on my wrist. Music has been driving force for years and without it I couldn’t have done the things I did. I listen to music most of the day. Listening to my favourite bands or artist makes me feel happy and thanks to the music I got to know amazing people and some of them became good friends. When I listen to music I forget everything around me.

Q2: What is your first music-related memory?

My dad had a caraccident and the car was to damaged. So dad had to get everything out of the car and the first thing I said to him was: Don’t forget the AC/DC cassette tape. This was years ago, because there weren’t any cds yet. I grew up with music from AC/DC and Linkin Park, thanks to my dad. I still listen to these bands and in 2014 I saw Linkin Park for the first time live in Amsterdam.

Q3: What was the first album you’ve purchased yourself?

This is a hard one, because I don’t exactly know which CD it was. I think my first cd that I actually bought was from Adam Lambert. His first CD named For Your Entertainment.

Q4: What was the latest music you purchased? (No online streaming or free downloads, I’m talking about cash here)?

My latest music I purchased is the new CD from Panic! At The Disco. I have been listening to this band for years now and when I heard their new cd Death Of A Bachelor I knew I had to buy it. Especially when I go driving I listen to cds. My favourite song of their album is: House Of Memories.

Q5: Which song did you listen to last? (No, cheating, come out with the dirty pleasures!)

The last song I listened to was a song from the Hungarian pre-selection for Eurovision. The song is from Freddie and it is called: Pioneer. I really hope Hungary will select this song, because Freddie his voice sounds amazing.

I actually don’t read a lot of music blogs and I really need to follow more people who write about music! But here are my nominations.

It’s Me Gea she writes about everything, but she also makes blogpost about music, concerts. I really love her concert pictures and how she writes about the artists. Her music post are mainly about Swedish artists.

This is really bad, but I actually don’t know who to nominate…. So I wanted to ask you, if you know a great blog about music or you are a music blogger, let me know in the comments.

My Favourite Bands

When I was writing down my favourite bands for this blogpost, I found out that I listen to a lot of bands. I wrote 20 bands down and today I will talk about my 10 favourite ones. If you want to see the other 20 bands just let me know and I will make an extra blogpost for you.

Bring Me The Horizon.

Last year I started listening to Bring Me The Horizon. I heard Drown for the first time on BBC radio 1 and I asked myself which band it was. It turned out that it was Bring Me The Horizon. After I heard Throne, Bring Me The Horizon became one of my favourite bands. I never thought that I would listen to them, but after hearing That’s The Spirit I am in love with this band. I am going to see them this summer on the dutch festival called Pinkpop.

Fall Out Boy.

The first time I heard Fall Out Boy I was at my uncles house and I saw them on MTV. The first song I heard was Thanks For The Memories. Since then Fall Out Boy is also one of my favourite bands. My favourite song is: Thanks For The Memories. I just can’t forget the monkeys and even after all these years I still love that song a lot. I haven’t seen them live yet!

Outtrigger is a Swedish band and I saw them for the first time at Melodifestivalen 2014 with their song Echo. I really wanted them to win Melodifestivalen and that they went to Eurovision, but that didn’t happen. This band and their song were not a typical Eurovision act. Echo is pretty good, but my favourite song is Last Of Us. I put a link on both of these songs, because I suggest you should listen to this band! They are really good. I haven’t seen them live yet. Another good reason to visit Sweden.

You Me At Six.

I have known You Me At Six for a while now, but in 2014 I actually started to listen to them. It was because they did a show or a tour with All Time Low. The first song I heard was Loverboy and it has been my favourite for a while. Now my favourite song is Lived A Lie. I haven’t seen this band either.

Of Mice And Men.

In 2014 I went to a Linkin Park concert in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Of Mice And Men were the support act and I always check out the support act before the concert. I wasn’t convinced yet, but after I saw them preform I was convinced. Their performance was amazing and even my dad liked it. I don’t know which song I heard first but my favourite song is: Feels Like Forever.

Panic! At The Disco.

I listen to Panic! At The Disco since I Write Sins Not Tragedies came out and I saw them on tv. It is still an amazing song even after all these years. My favourite song now a days is House Of Memories from their new album called Death Of A Bachelor. I am going to see Panic! At The Disco in May.

The Script.

I really liked The Script for a long time, but since 2 years I really started to listening to them. The first song I heard was The Man Who Can’t Be Moved. I enjoy listening to this band a lot. It gives me peace. My favourite song is The Energy  Never Dies. I saw The Script live for the first time last year at Pinkpop and it was amazing!

Linkin Park.

Linkin Park is the band that has been there almost all my life. I started listening to them when I was a kid, thanks to my dad. He is a Linkin Park fan. There was a period that I didn’t listen to them, but since a few years I rediscovered them. My favourite song is In The End, but I have more favourites. I choose this song, because it is my all time favourite. I saw Linkin Park in 2014 and that concert was the best concert yet! I hope they will go on tour this year and I can see them.

I knew Bastille already, because of their song Pompeii but in early 2014 I really got into them and I still am. In June that year I had the chance to see them on a festival called Concert At Sea. Their music makes me so happy and I just get loose when I listen to them. My favourite song is Icarus. This summer I am going to see them again at Pinkpop and this makes me so happy (I also have that with the next band). When I saw they would prefrom at Pinkpop I knew I had to get tickets.

All Time Low.

And last but not least: All Time Low! Yes, I had to include them, because they are my favourite band since 2008. The first song I heard was Lost in Stereo and after hearing that song I became a fan. A big fan! It took me years to finally see them live, everytime there was a stupid reason I couldn’t go and one time I cried a lot when I couldn’t go and my parents wouldn’t let me go alone. But then june arrived and I went to Jera On Air to see them live for the first. I was really nervous for this concert, because I had a feeling that it would go wrong again. But it didn’t and I was so happy that night, because I saw my favourite band live after all these years. I can’t describe how I felt that evening, I was happy, but I felt so much more. And this year I am going to see them again! In june at Pinkpop and I can’t wait to see them again. I love them so much and My favourite song for now is (it changes a lot): Something’s Gotta Give.

Throwback: Music #2

Last week you could read the first part of my throwback, if you haven’t read it yet and you want to read it, then click here. Today I have 5 artists for you!

This is a Dutch band from Volendam. The members are Jan Dulles, Jaap Kwakman and Jan De Witte. When I still listened to them Jaap De Witte was a membe and Jan De Witte wasn’t. I have been to a concert once and in 2011 they got selected to go to The Eurovision Song Contest. But their performance was bad. Everytime the camera zoomed in, they looked away from the camera, their song was in English, which I didn’t like. I wished they kept the song in Dutch. After they failed to reach the final, I stopped listening to them.

My favourite song: Geloven in het leven.

Another Dutch band called Di-rect, Jamie, Tim, Spike and Bas were the members back then when I still listened to them. Since Tim left the band and Marcel replaced him, I stopped listening to them. I think because I prefer Tim and his voice.

My favourite song: Hungry For Love.

I think everybody knows who Cascada is and most of you probably listened to Cascada. I really loved her older songs, like Miracle and Everytime We Touch. I can’t remember which year I stopped listening to her, but in 2013 she participated at the Eurovision Song Contest for Germany with her song Glorious. She became 21st.

My favourite song: Miracle.

Enrique Iglesias.

The first song I heard from Enrique was Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song). After that I was addicted and I believe that I had this song on repeat a lot! But this song isn’t my favourite song. I have been listening to Enrique the longest of all the artists I mentioned today.

My Favourite song: Tired Of Being Sorry

The Wanted.

The Wanted has a song called All Time Low and when I was searching a song from my favourite band All Time Low, I saw their song. After listening to that song, I wanted to listen to more of their songs and that is how I got to know The Wanted. In 2014 the band announced that they would be taking a hiatus after their current tour.

My favourite song: Glad You Came.
