Two weeks ago I asked my followers on twitter to send me their Eurovision 2016 top 3 and first of all I want to thank all of you for sending me your top 3! I used the names I saw on twitter, not your actual twitter names :). I start off with my own top 3 and then I will show you the top 3 from everyone else. Please, do not Judge any of their opinions! After that I will give you a top 3 based on all of these tops.

After I recieved all these tops I decided to count everytime a country was mentioned and I wanted to make a top 3 of it, but only one country was mentioned so much, that it would be a clear winner. The number 2 was mentioned 3 times. the number 3 was mentioned 2 times and the other countries were just mentioned one times.

  1. France.
  2. Bulgaria, Iceland, Russia.
  3. Israel, Spain, Croatia, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary.

I decided to count them in a different way, the amount of times they were mentioned as number 1, 2 or 3. After I did that I saw we had a clear top 3. Which means I will reveal the top 3.

Results Your Eurovision winner.

1.France – Amir – J’ai Cherché

Eurovision 2016 Top 10

Eurovision 2016 Top 10

In a few days the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will start and I am so excited! This year Eurovision will be held in Sweden, Stockholm. Their theme is: Come Together. Also Sweden made a change in the televote, I am not sure if I like that or not.

If you want to see my full top 42, I will add it into this blogpost to!

This year it would have been 43 countries that would sing in Sweden, but Romania got disqualified, because they still had to pay a lot of money. It is good they are disqualified, but it is so sad for their singer.

The Netherlands are back in the game again! When I first heard our song, I disliked it! But this song has grown so much on me and I really hope Douwe Bob will qualify, because a finale without your country isn’t fun.

10. Spain.

Barei – Say Yay.

This song has come a long way, from a non favorite to a favorite. It has grown so much on me and this song is not a typical song that spain would send. I find it really catchy and it is so easy to remember. She is amazing live.

Spain will sing in the final!

09. Hungary.

Freddie – Pioneer.

I am so happy that Hungary chose him! I really love his voice. Eventhought I wished he had more of a rock song for his voice. I still love this song a lot and this is my favorite hungarian entry ever! I also love the message of this song.

Hungary will sing in the first semi-final.

08. Israel.

Hovi Star – Made Of Stars.

Before Israel made this version of the song, I really didnt like the song at all. It was such an forgetable song, but then they released this version. I fell in love with this song and I am so happy they did a revamp. Hovi sings this song so beautiful and I enjoy every minute of this song!

Israel will sing in the second semi-final.

07. Croatia

Nina Kraljic – Lighthouse.

Croatia is back and they are stronger than ever! I missed this country so much and they decided to take Eurovision serious. I really love this song and I love Nina’s voice. I was scared she wouldn’t be that good live, but she is really good!

Croatia will sing in the first semi-final.

06. Iceland.

Greta Salome – Hear Them Calling.

I liked this song before I went to Eurovision in Concert, but after the concert I knew this could be a possible dark horse. She is so good live and the song has a strong message. At the beginning I prefered the Icelandic version, but still this version is amazing! I just hope she won’t be underrated!

Iceland will sing in the first semi-final.

05. Russia.

Sergey Lazarev – You’re the Only One.

Finally after screaming to Russia for 8 years that they had to send Sergey to Eurovision, they finally did it. Sergey is my favorite Russian singer and I knew he wouldn’t dissapoint me. I still can’t believe he is actually going. This song is amazing and Russia is in it to win it! His vocals live are amazing and all I can say is I love this song a lot! This will be atleast in the top 5

Russia will sing in the first semi-final.

04. Estonia.

Jüri Pootsmann – Play.

This guy has such an amazing voice! I really love his deep voice and that is the main reason I love this song so much! I find his voice very mysterious and Jüri’s facial expression are just gold!

Estonia will sing in the first semi-final.

03. Bulgaria.

Poli Genova – If Love Was A Crime.

Best Bulgarian entry! When they announced that Poli would participate again for Bulgaria, I thought their song would be a rock song, but it wasn’t. I must say this song is so much better! Poli is amazing live and I want this to qualify, because Bulgaria deserves to be in the final.

Bulgaria will sing in the second semi-final.

02. Latvia.

Justs – Heartbeat.

I normally don’t like the style of these kind of songs, but I just love it a lot. Justs has an amazing voice and I love it when he sings higher and puts his power into it. I catch myself listening to this song all the time. Latvia did once again an amazing job.

Latvia will sing in the second semi-final.

01. France.

Amir – J’ai Cherché

This song gives me so much feelings everytime I listen to it. It makes me fall in love with this song over and over again. I normally not a fan of French songs, but this is so amazing. I love the French and English parts, because it sounds amazing. Amir is such a charming singer. If anyone last year said to me that I actually would have France as my winner, I probably would have told them that they were crazy. I still can’t believe it how good this song.

France will sing in the final.

Please respect my opinion!

Eurovision 2014 Top 10

Eurovision 2014 Top 10

In 2014 Eurovision was hosted by Denmark. Denmark decided to organize the contest in Copenhagen, their capital. Their theme was: Join Us.

Austria won the contest with Conchita Würst. Her song was called Rise Like A Phoenix. Conchita wasn’t in my favourites that year, I just didn’t like the song. She won with 290 points.

2014 was also the year that The Common Linnets became second. I didn’t expect this at all and when they were announcing the points, I was so nervous and I really wished they won the contest. For me they were the actual winners.

10. Israel.

 Mei Finegold – Same Heart.

Mei Finegold

This song is amazing and I really love the voice of Mei. The problem with her voice is you either think it is good or really bad. You have to get used to her voice. Still it was a big shock that she didn’t reach the final. I expected this song to be in the top 10.

Israel didn’t reach the final and they became 14th in semi 2 with 19 points.

09. Norway.

Carl Espen – Silent Storm.

Carl Espen

This guy can sing with so much emotion, that he gives me goosebumps. This is one of the ballads that I love so much! He has such a pure voice and the performance is perfect for this song.

Norway reached the final and they got the 8th place with 88 points.

08. Ukraine.

Mariya Yaremchuk – Tick-Tock.

I disliked this song when I first heard it, but then Mariya revamped her song and it became amazing. After 2008 this song is one of my favourite Ukrainian entries since I watch the Eurovision. It is really catchy and her vocals are good.

Ukraine reached the final and they got the 6th place with 113 points.

07. Finland.

Softengine – Something Better.

When I first heard this song I wasn’t sure if I liked or not, but this music is my kind of music. And I really love bands. They remind me off my favourite band. After I listened this song a few times, this song became one of my favourites. It is definitly my favourite Finnish entry!

Finland reached the final and they got the 11th place with 72 points

06. Denmark.

Basim – Cliché Love Song.

This song is so catchy and his voice is amazing. He has such a cute voice. It reminds me a bit of Bruno Mars and it was a really good choice to send Basim to Eurovision. This song makes me so happy and I just can’t help it to sing along.

Denmark was already in the final and they got the 9th place with 74 points.

05. Romania.

Paula Seling & Ovi – Miracle.

Paula seling & ovi

4 years after Playing With Fire, Paula Seling & Ovi decided to go to Eurovision again. Everyoone was happy, because they knew the song would be good. I really like the song, but Playing With Fire is still my favourite entry. I still don’t get the round piano.

Romania reached the final and they got the 12th place with 72 points.

04. Hungary.

András Kallay-Saunders – Running.

Back in 2014 this was my winner, now there is an other country that I think should have won. I still love the song a lot, vocals live weren’t that good all the time. I also love the lyrics of this song. I can understand why this was my winner in 2014.

Hungary reached the final and they got the 5th place with 143 points.

03. Armenia.

ARAM MP3 – Not Alone

Aram mp3

I really love the progress of this song. It starts really small and quiet, but then suddenly it grows bigger. To be honest the singing at the beginning isn’t that good, but I really love the singing at the end. This was so different then all the other songs.

Armenia reached the final and they got the 4th place with 174 points.

02. Montenegro

Sergej Cetkovic – Moj Svijet.

Sergej Cetkovic

Here I am again with a traditional Balkan song in their own language. I could listen to this song for hours. I find this so beautiful, eventhought I don’t understand anything. This song is brilliant and I was dissapointed that it wasn’t placed that high. This song should have be in the top 10.

Montenegro reached the final and they only got the 19th place with 37 points.

01. Sweden

Sanna Nielsen – Undo

I still can’t believe I didn’t like this song at the beginning. After listening to this in the semi-finals it became my favourite to win. This song was the best ballad they had that year. I love how you hear the people sing along. It was also a dream for Sanna to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest and she did it. She should have been my number one in 2014

Sweden reached the final and they got the 3th place with 218 points

Eurovision 2013 Top 10

Eurovision 2013 Top 10

In 2013 it was time for Sweden to organize the contest. The contest was held in Malmö, because the Globen Arena in Stockholm wasn’t available. The theme that year was: We Are One.

Denmark was the winner that year with the song Only Teardrops by Emmelie De Forest. This song is in my top 10 and that is why I will talk about it more later on. This top 10 is so different then when I made it in 2013.

2013 was also the year my country (The Netherlands) managed to finally reach the final. I still remember how nervous I was when they were showing the finalists. We were the last country in that semi to reach the final! In the final we got the 9th place with 114 points.

10. Germany.

Cascada – Glorious.

When a famous singer enters Eurovision and they don’t get into the top 10. In 2013 Cascada tried to win this contest for Germany, but she didn’t succeed. I really liked this song, but I kinda was dissapointed about it. I expected so much more of her and I must say the song grew on me. It is a typical Cascada song. The performance itself was fine, but not special and her vocals were good.

Germany was already in the final and they got 21th place with 18 points.

09. Russia.

Dina Garipova – What If.

After the Grannies in 2012, Russia decided to send a The Voice winner. I really like this song, but I kind of miss the emotion. She sings with emotions, but I don’t feel them to be honest. It is still a good song and that is why she got my 9th place. Vocally she is good.

Russia reached the final and they got the 5th place with 174 points.

08. Moldova.

Aliona Moon – O Mie.

This song is really beautiful and Aliona really sings beautiful. I can feel her emotions and her vocals are on point. The language is really beautiful. I don’t like the dancers in the background it makes this performance to busy for me. Her dress looks beautiful on her.

Moldova reached the final and they got the 11th place with 71 points.

07. Azerbaijan.

Farid Mammadov – Hold Me.

I was in love with this song in 2013 and I still love this song, but not so much as back then. I really love the dramatic refrain and Farid is a good singer. They should have changed the performance in my opinion. I don’t get the point of the dancer copying Farids moves. To be honest I don’t like it.

Azerbaijan reached the final and they got the 2nd place with 234 points.

06. Sweden.

Robin Stjernberg – You.

Sweden was my number one in 2013. I still remember how much I loved that song back then. I still love it now, but there were better songs that year. Robin is an amazing singer and he deserved to be there. Europe didn’t like the song that much because he wasn’t in the top 10.

Sweden was the host country and that is why they were in the final already. They got the 14th place with 62 points.

05. Finland.

Krista Siegfrieds – Marry Me

Finland decided to send Krista to Eurovision with Marry me and Krista had a reason why she sang Marry Me. In 2013 she was so desperate for her boyfriend to propose to her that she went on television in front of hundreds of millions of people to sing about it. Besides that the song will get stuck in your head and you won’t get rid of it that easy. After 3 years I still love this song. She should have been in the top 10, but Europe didn’t agree with that. At the end of the song Krista kisses a woman.

Finland reached the final and they got the 24th place with 13 points.

04. Belgium.

Roberto Bellarosa – Love Kills

My guilty pleasure of 2013! At the beginning I really disliked this song, but it grew so fast on me. I was conviced that Belgium wouldn’t reach the final, but then he surpised me. He sang so much better and surprise, surprise. Belgium reached the final. Roberto was so happy that he reached it. He even cried after he sung his song in the final. I still love this song so much.

Belgium reached the final and they got the 12th place with 71 points.

03. Italy.

Marco Mengoni – L’essenziale.

This song became my favourite song after the contest. I still can’t believe that I didn’t like this song when the contest was on. I can remember that I said it was boring, but after Eurovision  I realised that this song was so beautiful. Marco is an amazing singer and this song gives me goosebumps. Shame on me in 2013 for not liking this song!

Italy was already in the final, because they are a part of Big 5. They got the 7th place with 126 points.

02. Norway.

Margaret Berger – I Feed You My Love.

The style of this song was so different from all the other songs and that is the reason why I loved it. Margaret her vocals were on point and this song is just amazing. Also I loved the drummer in the background.

Norway reached the final and they the 4th place with 191 points.

01. Denmark.

Emmelie De Forest – Only Teardrops.

My winner is ofcourse the winner of Eurovision 2013. This song is amazing and I really love the flute in the beginning. It was a good choice that Denmark won the contest in that year, because it was just the best song of that evening! Even in 2016 I still find this song amazing. I even heard this song on the radio a few weeks ago.

Denmark won the contest with 281 points.

What is your top 10?

Please respect my opinion.

Eurovision 2012 Top 10

Eurovision 2012 Top 10

In 2012 Eurovision was held in Azerbaijan. The capital Baku had the honour to organize Eurovision that year. After just participating for 5 years they organized the contest. The theme of that year was Light Your Fire.

Sweden won in 2012 with their song Euphoria by Loreen. For me it was clear that she would win the contest that year, but  there was still one song a little bit better. You will read which country it is later on.

Before I show you my top 10, I will give you one entry that you really should watch! It are the Russian Grannies. They weren’t in my favourites, but it is so cute to see them and Party For Everybody, dance!

10. Slovakia.

Max Jason Mai – Don’t Close Your Eyes.

When a country finally sends a rock song, but it doesn’t reach the final. Okay to be honest after hearing the live performance again, it isn’t that good. The singer sings off tune sometimes and it is not his best perfomance.  BUT, Eurovision really needs more rock songs.

Slovakia didn’t reach the final, they got the 18th place with 22 points.

09. Belarus.

Litesound – We Are The Heroes.

After seeing their videoclip, I loved their song! It became my guilty pleasure. I was really dissapointed that they didn’t go to the final. It was not the best song in the contest, but they really deserved the final. I just love these kind of songs and ofcourse bands!

Belarus didn’t reach the final, they got the 16th place with 35 points.

08. Turkey.

Can Bonomo – Love Me Back.

First of all I really love the beginning of the song! It is really a weird song if you listen to the lyrics and the performance is so funny. All the dancers together made a boat and it looked so funny on stage. This song makes me really happy and it makes me miss Turkey in the Eurovision! The melody of the song is so traditional.

Turkey reached the final and they got the 7th place with 112 points.

07. Denmark.

Soluna Samay – Should’ve Known Better.

And there is Denmark again. I think Denmark is really my Eurovision country. Somehow they manage to reach my favourites every year, but the first time I heard this song I disliked it. I guess it was, because she won the Danish final and my favourite didn’t. This a typical song that doesn’t need a big show around it and she sings really good. After hearing this song a few times it really grew on me. It is a shame she didn’t reach the top 10.

Denmark reached the final and they got the 23th place with 21 points.

06. Romania.

Mandinga – Zaleilah.

This song gives me a summer feeling. I love this song so much! Their performance was simple, but I loved it. Vocals are on point and even afters 4 years I still think this is an amazing song. They deserved atleast top 10. Back in 2012 I thought it would be in the top 3.

Romania reached the final and they got the 12th place with 71 points.

05. Slovenia.

Eva Boto – Verjamem

I have a weakness for songs from the Balkan. Especially when they sing in their own language. When I was writing this blogpost I found out that Slovenia didn’t reach the final that year. I must say I am shocked, because I really thought they were in the final. I love this song much and I don’t understand why they didn’t reach the final. Vocals are amazing.

Slovenia didn’t reach the final, they got the 17th place with 31 points.

04. Germany.

Roman Lob – Standing Still.

This song is my favourite german entry. It is so simple and cute. Everytime I listen to this song it feels like I am dreaming. I love this song so much. The only thing I dislike about the performance is Roman wearing his beanie. He looked way better without it.

Germany was already in the final, but they got the 8th place with 110 points

03. Iceland.

Greta Salome & Jonsi – Never Forget.

This song gives me goosebumps and the melody is a bit dramatic, but I really love it. This song also gives me a mysterious feeling. At first I didn’t like the song that much, but after seeing the semi-final it became one of my favourites. I am surprised that this didn’t get into the top 10

Iceland reached the final and they got the 20th place with 46 points.

02. Sweden.

Loreen – Euphoria.

This song is a masterpiece and the only song I still hear on the radio sometimes. Vocals are perfect, sweden had a nice performance and it was pretty clear Sweden would win that year. This song is amazing and I love it so much! Even after 4 years it still is amazing!

Sweden won the contest with 372 points

01. Serbia.

Zeljko Joksimovic – Nije Ljubav Stvar.

Eurovision Song Contest 2012 - General Saturday

This song is the only song I liked a little bit more than Euphoria. First of all the melody is so charming and beautiful. Second it is a song from the balkan and third they sing in their own language. Zeljko is an amazing singer and even when I don’t understand a single word, I still can feel he sings  it with so much emotion. Besides that Zeljko is my favourite artist from the balkan.

Serbia reached the final and they got the 3th place with 214 points.

What is your top 10?

Please respect my opinion.
