Eurovision 2015 Top 10

Eurovision 2015 Top 10

In 2015 Eurovision went to Vienna. Austria had the honour to host the contest. Their theme was: Building Bridges. To be honest I didn’t like this contest, not because of the songs, but because of how it was hosted. They rushed the anouncement of the finalists, they lost contact with spokepersons a lot of time and I didn’t like the stage, also I didn’t like the hosts.

The winner of Eurovision 2015 was Sweden. Måns Zelmerlöw won the contest with his song Heroes. Sweden is in my top 10.

10. Belarus

Uzari & Maimuna – Time.

My 2015 guilty pleasure, I started to love them after they realised their official videoclip. I love these two together. The violin parts sounds amazing and eventhought I didn’t like their performance that much, they still deserved to be in the final. I was dissapointed that they didn’t reach the final.

Belarus didn’t reach the final and they got the 12th place in their semi with 39 points.

09. Azerbaijan.

Elnur Huseynov – Hour Of The Wolf.

Azerbaijan decided to send this beautiful ballad with a familiair face. Elnur particpated in 2008 together with Samir with their song Day after Day. I prefer this song over Day after Day, because this is song is more mature. I didn’t like his performance, it was way to busy for this song.

Azerbaijan reached the final and they got the 12th place with 49 points.

08. Georgia.

Nina Sublatti – Warrior.

Biggest Climber this year! Georgia went from my non-favourite to one of my favourites. I didn’t like the song, because it was to screamy for me, but when she performed at Eurovision I started to love her song. She did an amazing job and her performance was great!

Georgia reached the final and they got the 11th place with 51 points.

07. Israel

Nadav Guedj – Golden Boy.

Israel decided to give a 3-minute party in Vienna. With only 16 years Nadav gave an amazing performance in Vienna. When I hear the first second of this song I know that it is Golden Boy. I love how energetic this song is and it makes me want to go to a party. After Harel Skaat, this is the best song from Israel.

Israel reached the final and they got the 9th with 97 points.

06. Estonia.

Elina Born & Stig Rästa – Goodbye To Yesterday.

Best Estonian song since I watch eurovision. This song is almost like the Dutch entry at Eurovision 2014. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. I love it, just like I loved the Dutch entry. Their performance was simple but I really liked it. This song is such a charming song.

Estonian reached the final and they got the 7th place with 106 points.

05. Slovenia.

Maraaya – Here For You.

This song is so amazing. Actually all the songs in my top 5 are amazing! The woman has such an unique voice. I could reqonize her voice out of thousands. That is the main reason I love their song. Performance was good, they only had a bad position. They opened the final.

Slovenia reached the final and they got 14th place with 39 points.

04. Norway.

Mørland and Debrah Scarlett – A Monster Like Me.

This song has grown so much on me. Especially after I saw them at Eurovision In Concert. They were so amazing live and this song is so beautiful. Seeing this song live made me love it more and more. I think if I haven’t seen them live, it wouldn’t be so high.

Norway reached the final and they got the 8th place with 102 points.

03. Belgium.

Loïc Nottet – Rythm Inside.

This is the best Belgian entry ever! I loved Tom Dice, but I love this song more! Eventhought his song sounds a bit like a song from Lorde. His performance was a bit weird to be honest, but you saw that he put effort in his performance. I was convinced that this would be the Eurovision 2015 Dark Horse. He had a great chance to win and he got Belgium a good result.

Belgium reached the final and they got the 4th place with 217 points.

02. Australia.

Guy Sebastián -Tonight Again.

Australia loves the Eurovision and that is why Australia had the chance to participate at Eurovision as a guest country. They decided to let Guy Sebastián particpate with his song tonight again. I must say I love this song so much and it is such a catchy song. This song could easily be in the charts. His performance was cute.

Australia was a guest country in the final and they got the 5th place with 196 points.

01. Sweden

Måns Zelmerlöw – Heroes.

And once again is my winner also the winner of the Eurovision song contest. From the first time I heard this song I fell in love with this song and I really love his performance. Måns is a great performer and I an happy that I had the chance to see him at Eurovision in Concert. This song means so much to me and I was really happy when he won the contest.

Sweden won the contest with 365 points.

What is your top 10?

Music Of The Month: April.

Time for Music Of The Month. I am so excited for next month, because Eurovision is on TV and I am going to see Panic! At The Disco! I still have 3 Eurovision songs in this months favorites, but I didn’t mention them in my last Music Of The Month.

Alan Walker – Faded.

My uncle showed me this song, but when he showed me at the time I wasn’t interested in this song. But a few weeks later I heard it again on the radio and I loved it. I searched for this song, but I couldn’t find it. Until this song was on the radio again and I decided to use Shazam.

All Time Low – Missing You.

When All Time Low released the video of this song, I became addicted again. I love this song so much and the lyrics are amazing! I love the videoclip, because they are talking to fans all over the world and they filmed it in my favorite city London.

Zoë – Loin D’ici.

Before I went to Eurovision In Concert I didn’t like this song. But after hearing it live, I am such a fan. Zoë is so adorable and the song live is so cute. She got the biggest applause of the evening.

Jüri Pootsmann – Play.

When I heard this song for the first time I fell in love with it. I really love his voice, it is so unique. Everytime I listen to this song, I just can’t get over the fact how amazing his voice is.

Poli Genova – If Love Was A Crime

Poli participated at Eurovision in 2011 to, she didn’t reach the final that year. But I am pretty sure she will reach it this year. If Love Was A Crime is so good! After I heard it live it also grew on me and she is now in my top 3!

Eurovision 2014 Top 10

Eurovision 2014 Top 10

In 2014 Eurovision was hosted by Denmark. Denmark decided to organize the contest in Copenhagen, their capital. Their theme was: Join Us.

Austria won the contest with Conchita Würst. Her song was called Rise Like A Phoenix. Conchita wasn’t in my favourites that year, I just didn’t like the song. She won with 290 points.

2014 was also the year that The Common Linnets became second. I didn’t expect this at all and when they were announcing the points, I was so nervous and I really wished they won the contest. For me they were the actual winners.

10. Israel.

 Mei Finegold – Same Heart.

Mei Finegold

This song is amazing and I really love the voice of Mei. The problem with her voice is you either think it is good or really bad. You have to get used to her voice. Still it was a big shock that she didn’t reach the final. I expected this song to be in the top 10.

Israel didn’t reach the final and they became 14th in semi 2 with 19 points.

09. Norway.

Carl Espen – Silent Storm.

Carl Espen

This guy can sing with so much emotion, that he gives me goosebumps. This is one of the ballads that I love so much! He has such a pure voice and the performance is perfect for this song.

Norway reached the final and they got the 8th place with 88 points.

08. Ukraine.

Mariya Yaremchuk – Tick-Tock.

I disliked this song when I first heard it, but then Mariya revamped her song and it became amazing. After 2008 this song is one of my favourite Ukrainian entries since I watch the Eurovision. It is really catchy and her vocals are good.

Ukraine reached the final and they got the 6th place with 113 points.

07. Finland.

Softengine – Something Better.

When I first heard this song I wasn’t sure if I liked or not, but this music is my kind of music. And I really love bands. They remind me off my favourite band. After I listened this song a few times, this song became one of my favourites. It is definitly my favourite Finnish entry!

Finland reached the final and they got the 11th place with 72 points

06. Denmark.

Basim – Cliché Love Song.

This song is so catchy and his voice is amazing. He has such a cute voice. It reminds me a bit of Bruno Mars and it was a really good choice to send Basim to Eurovision. This song makes me so happy and I just can’t help it to sing along.

Denmark was already in the final and they got the 9th place with 74 points.

05. Romania.

Paula Seling & Ovi – Miracle.

Paula seling & ovi

4 years after Playing With Fire, Paula Seling & Ovi decided to go to Eurovision again. Everyoone was happy, because they knew the song would be good. I really like the song, but Playing With Fire is still my favourite entry. I still don’t get the round piano.

Romania reached the final and they got the 12th place with 72 points.

04. Hungary.

András Kallay-Saunders – Running.

Back in 2014 this was my winner, now there is an other country that I think should have won. I still love the song a lot, vocals live weren’t that good all the time. I also love the lyrics of this song. I can understand why this was my winner in 2014.

Hungary reached the final and they got the 5th place with 143 points.

03. Armenia.

ARAM MP3 – Not Alone

Aram mp3

I really love the progress of this song. It starts really small and quiet, but then suddenly it grows bigger. To be honest the singing at the beginning isn’t that good, but I really love the singing at the end. This was so different then all the other songs.

Armenia reached the final and they got the 4th place with 174 points.

02. Montenegro

Sergej Cetkovic – Moj Svijet.

Sergej Cetkovic

Here I am again with a traditional Balkan song in their own language. I could listen to this song for hours. I find this so beautiful, eventhought I don’t understand anything. This song is brilliant and I was dissapointed that it wasn’t placed that high. This song should have be in the top 10.

Montenegro reached the final and they only got the 19th place with 37 points.

01. Sweden

Sanna Nielsen – Undo

I still can’t believe I didn’t like this song at the beginning. After listening to this in the semi-finals it became my favourite to win. This song was the best ballad they had that year. I love how you hear the people sing along. It was also a dream for Sanna to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest and she did it. She should have been my number one in 2014

Sweden reached the final and they got the 3th place with 218 points

Travel Wishlist #3

It has been a while since I updated my travelwishlist on here! I haven’t visted any of the places I wrote about before, but I am pretty sure I will visit one of those places this year. If you want to read part 1 & 2 click here for part 1 and click  here for part 2.

The first city I added to my wishlist is Copenhagen. I wanted to visit Copenhagen for a long time now, but I totally forgot about it! I find Copenhagen beautiful and because Sweden is really close you could easily visit both Denmark and Sweden. I especially adore the haven of Copenhagen. With these beautiful buildings.

As you all know I love London, but there is an other city in the uk that I would love to visit. This city is near the sea and it is called Brighton. I would love to visit this city, because it is near the sea and it looks so amazing. Thanks to Gabby, I know this city.

And last but not least I want to visit Budapest. I heard so many good things about Budapest that it made me want to go there! I am so curious how it looks like and if I will like it! I know that they probably will speak English, there but the hungarian language will be a problem. Because sometimes I can reqonize some words, but with Hungarian I have no clue what they say.

Eurovision 2013 Top 10

Eurovision 2013 Top 10

In 2013 it was time for Sweden to organize the contest. The contest was held in Malmö, because the Globen Arena in Stockholm wasn’t available. The theme that year was: We Are One.

Denmark was the winner that year with the song Only Teardrops by Emmelie De Forest. This song is in my top 10 and that is why I will talk about it more later on. This top 10 is so different then when I made it in 2013.

2013 was also the year my country (The Netherlands) managed to finally reach the final. I still remember how nervous I was when they were showing the finalists. We were the last country in that semi to reach the final! In the final we got the 9th place with 114 points.

10. Germany.

Cascada – Glorious.

When a famous singer enters Eurovision and they don’t get into the top 10. In 2013 Cascada tried to win this contest for Germany, but she didn’t succeed. I really liked this song, but I kinda was dissapointed about it. I expected so much more of her and I must say the song grew on me. It is a typical Cascada song. The performance itself was fine, but not special and her vocals were good.

Germany was already in the final and they got 21th place with 18 points.

09. Russia.

Dina Garipova – What If.

After the Grannies in 2012, Russia decided to send a The Voice winner. I really like this song, but I kind of miss the emotion. She sings with emotions, but I don’t feel them to be honest. It is still a good song and that is why she got my 9th place. Vocally she is good.

Russia reached the final and they got the 5th place with 174 points.

08. Moldova.

Aliona Moon – O Mie.

This song is really beautiful and Aliona really sings beautiful. I can feel her emotions and her vocals are on point. The language is really beautiful. I don’t like the dancers in the background it makes this performance to busy for me. Her dress looks beautiful on her.

Moldova reached the final and they got the 11th place with 71 points.

07. Azerbaijan.

Farid Mammadov – Hold Me.

I was in love with this song in 2013 and I still love this song, but not so much as back then. I really love the dramatic refrain and Farid is a good singer. They should have changed the performance in my opinion. I don’t get the point of the dancer copying Farids moves. To be honest I don’t like it.

Azerbaijan reached the final and they got the 2nd place with 234 points.

06. Sweden.

Robin Stjernberg – You.

Sweden was my number one in 2013. I still remember how much I loved that song back then. I still love it now, but there were better songs that year. Robin is an amazing singer and he deserved to be there. Europe didn’t like the song that much because he wasn’t in the top 10.

Sweden was the host country and that is why they were in the final already. They got the 14th place with 62 points.

05. Finland.

Krista Siegfrieds – Marry Me

Finland decided to send Krista to Eurovision with Marry me and Krista had a reason why she sang Marry Me. In 2013 she was so desperate for her boyfriend to propose to her that she went on television in front of hundreds of millions of people to sing about it. Besides that the song will get stuck in your head and you won’t get rid of it that easy. After 3 years I still love this song. She should have been in the top 10, but Europe didn’t agree with that. At the end of the song Krista kisses a woman.

Finland reached the final and they got the 24th place with 13 points.

04. Belgium.

Roberto Bellarosa – Love Kills

My guilty pleasure of 2013! At the beginning I really disliked this song, but it grew so fast on me. I was conviced that Belgium wouldn’t reach the final, but then he surpised me. He sang so much better and surprise, surprise. Belgium reached the final. Roberto was so happy that he reached it. He even cried after he sung his song in the final. I still love this song so much.

Belgium reached the final and they got the 12th place with 71 points.

03. Italy.

Marco Mengoni – L’essenziale.

This song became my favourite song after the contest. I still can’t believe that I didn’t like this song when the contest was on. I can remember that I said it was boring, but after Eurovision  I realised that this song was so beautiful. Marco is an amazing singer and this song gives me goosebumps. Shame on me in 2013 for not liking this song!

Italy was already in the final, because they are a part of Big 5. They got the 7th place with 126 points.

02. Norway.

Margaret Berger – I Feed You My Love.

The style of this song was so different from all the other songs and that is the reason why I loved it. Margaret her vocals were on point and this song is just amazing. Also I loved the drummer in the background.

Norway reached the final and they the 4th place with 191 points.

01. Denmark.

Emmelie De Forest – Only Teardrops.

My winner is ofcourse the winner of Eurovision 2013. This song is amazing and I really love the flute in the beginning. It was a good choice that Denmark won the contest in that year, because it was just the best song of that evening! Even in 2016 I still find this song amazing. I even heard this song on the radio a few weeks ago.

Denmark won the contest with 281 points.

What is your top 10?

Please respect my opinion.

Eurovision 2016 Favorites.

As you know I made a top 10 of every year since I watch the Eurovision Song Contest and I am also doing one for Eurovision 2016. Currently I have no idea which countries are in my top 10. My top 10 is a mess, because I like too many good songs and I can’t choose which ones belong into my top 10. So today I have a special blogpost about my Eurovision 2016 favorites. My favorites are in a random order, but I decided to take the order from the semis. Which means first the countries from semi-final 1, then semi-final 2 and then the Big 5 + host country. There are some countries that I didn’t mention, but I still like their song. But they didn’t made it into my favourites.

Semi – Final 1.

Freddie – Pioneer.

Before Freddie was selected in the Hungary, it was pretty clear that if they would choose him, Hungary would be in my favorites. I love Freddie’s voice, eventhought a rock song would suit him much better.

Nina Kraljic – Lighthouse.

I was so happy when Croatia came back to Eurovision, eventhought I didn’t expect a lot from them. Their past entries weren’t that good. But they have an amazing comeback! I really love this song, I love the message in this song and she is so good live!

The Netherlands.

Douwe Bob – Slow Down.

I never rank my own country, but I decided to put this one in my favorites. This song has grown on me so much. When I heard it for the first time I disliked it, because this is not an uptempo song!!!!! Oh well, after I listened it a few times I started to like the song and now he is in my favorites. Darkhorse of Eurovision 2016?

Sergey Lazarev – You’re The Only One.

Sergey has been my favorite Russian artist since 2008 and when he finally said yes to Eurovision, I was so happy! I love this song so much and everytime I hear it I am like yes, he is singing for Russia. This could be a possible winner.

Czech Republic.

Gabriela Gunčíková – I Stand.

A ballad, yes sometimes I like ballads. I really love her voice and the refrain sounds amazing! I hope Europe will see this to, because Czech Republic deserves to be in the final.

Minus One – Alter Ego.

Rock song in Eurovision always makes me so happy. I didn’t expect much from Cyprus until I heard their song! I just love these kind of songs and the voice from the singer is just amazing! If this song doesn’t reach the final I am will be angry!

Zoë – Loin D’ici.

After Eurovision in Concert I started to love this song! She was really good live and she got the biggest applause from the public. This song is very simple, but it is such a cute song and I really like Zoë.

Jüri Pootsmann – Play.

Every single time I hear this song I can’t get over the fact that his voice sounds so amazing. I really love his low voice, it sounds so unique. Plus his facial expression are amazing!

Greta Salome – Hear Them Calling.

Eurovision 2016 is the year with familliar face, because Greta participated for Iceland in 2012. This song is live very good, eventhough I wished she didn’t changed it to English. In Icelandic it sounded more mysterious.

Semi – Final 2.

Justs – Heartbeat.

This song is so good! I just love everything about it and I love Justs his voice. This is one of my top favourites and I wouldn’t mind Latvia winning this year!

Hovi Star – Made Of Stars.

I disliked Made Of Stars at the beginning, until Israel decided to revamp this song into this beautiful ballad. After that I started to love this song a lot! Hovi has a beautiful voice and I must say I love Hovi as person too!

Nicky Byrne – Sunlight.

I like this song a lot and it was my first favorite this Eurovision. Nicky isn’t that good live, but I like the studio version a lot!

Donny Montell – I’ve Been Waiting For This Night.

Another familiar face! Donny participated in 2012 to with his song Love is Blind. Back then I didn’t like his song, but this year I love his song. He changed a lot in the past years, but in a good way.

Poli Genova – If Love Was  A Crime.

Poli participated in  2011 with her song Na Inat at Eurovision. This year she is back and stronger than ever. Her songs is amazing, I expected so much from her and she did even better. She is amazing live and this song needs to be in the final!

Lighthouse X – Soldiers Of Love.

First of All: Denmark welcome back into my favorites. Except for last year, Denmark has always been in my favourites. This year they are my guilty pleasure! This song isn’t the best song this year, but from the first time I heard it I love it!

Agnete – Icebreaker.

I like the Norwegian song, but I actually wanted 2 other songs to win. Most people seem to dislike the song, but I really like the difference in the song. I had to listened to it a few times, until I really liked it.

Big 5 + host country.

Amir – J’ai Cherché.

I love this song so so so much! Everytime I hear this song I fall in love with it over and over again. I love the French and English parts and Amir is such a charming singer. If I listen to this song it makes me so happy.

Barei – Say Yay.

And last but not least Spain! I disliked this song when I heard it the first time, but it grew so much on me. I love this song a lot and I am so glad that kept listening to this song on and on!

Please respect my opinion! Good luck to all the countries 🙂
