My 2015

My 2015

Can you believe it, it is the last day of the year! I can’t believe how fast this year went and I am going to miss 2015. But today I will do a throwback to this year where I learned a lot, got my first tattoo, went to Italy and London and got a rabbit.

2014-12-31 14.24.57

I started my year in the beautiful city of London. It was really nice to start my year in my favourite country. After this trip I went back to my internship and started to go to a new school.

2014-12-31 08.25.49

February was the month that actually nothing special happend. Even in my memory jar there is nothing special to tell about.

2015-03-21 20.28.45

March was really the most dissapointing month this year. On 11 march I would finally go and see All Time low and have a meet and greet with them, but my friend cancelled on Sunday before the show. I asked an other friend but she was ill. So I couldn’t go to this concert, because my parents didn’t want me to go alone. I was so dissapointed and sad, that once again I couldn’t go and see All Time Low. I had a fight with my friend and the contact broke.

I had an other concert in my agenda on march 21st and that was the Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil concert. One of my friends came with me and I got to meet one of my internet friends Laura! After 4 years we finally got the chance to meet each other and I had an amazing time! I love both bands a lot!

2015-03-21 21.32.31

De last day of March dad and I went to see The Netherlands vs. Spain soccer match with dads work.

Finally it was april and then the day came on the 18th of april that Simon and I would go to Eurovision in Concert. It was a dream come true and we arrived early at the venue. There we met some amazing people and we saw some great artists.

There was also a afterparty and some of the delegations were there to. I had a great chat with Electro Velvet from the United Kingdom, Debrah Scarlett & Morland from Norway and Vaidas Baumila from Lithuania. I also got to see my number one favourite Mans Zelmerlöw and took a picture with him. I really had an amazing night. Thank you to all the delegations, Eurovision in Concert and the people I met that night. If you want to see more pictures, you can go to the blogpost I made about it. Click here

Eurovision month! I really love May, because of Eurovision and I always take time off to watch the Eurovision. This year was a dissapointing year for the Netherlands, because we didn’t reach the final. There were some great songs in the final and my number 1 won Eurovision: Sweden!

2015-06-13 20.37.57

June was the month that I ended my education and I waited until the beginning of July for the results. But between that period I got two festivals. The first festival was Pinkpop 2015. I went on Saturday and once again I got to meet Laura, her parents and Emma. I saw The Wombats, Dotan, Anouk, The Script, Avicii and Robbie Williams.

2015-06-13 18.10.49

On the 19th & 20th of June I went to a festival called Jera On Air with my friend Chantal. On the 19th I saw Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! A Day To Remember and many more.

The day after I finally got to see All Time Low. I also saw Destine, a dutch band who would stop making music a few months later. Thank you guys for the great years!

I saw Enter Shikari to and I got frontrow. (I just got frontrow, because of All Time Low). Their performance was amazing, but I didn’t make any pictures, because it wasn’t safe to get my Phone out.

Then it was finally time to see All Time Low and I must say I was really happy and nervous. Their performance was amazing as always and I wish that moment could last forever. Finally I saw my favourite band in real life.

The first of july I started my work as a nurse, I didn’t know yet if I graduated, but I was pretty sure I did. I got the letter saying that I graduated a few days later. On the 10th of july I got my first tattoo and I was really excited for it. It is a musical note. On the 14th of july it was my 20th birthday and I officially graduated as a nurse. I also made this blog in July and my first blogpost came online on my birthday and the first real blogpost came online on 22 of July. You can read my first blogpost here

In August nothing special happend, only that I changed the city were I worked. The rest of the month I worked a lot, because it was vacation time.

In september I had my summer vacation and we went to Italy. We did an excursion trip and we visited a lot of beautiful places, like Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Portofino, Rapallo, Genua and San Remo. I made some blogposts about it and if you want to read them then you can click here.

On the 29th of September we decided to get a rabbit, we named him Sammy.

Oktober & November.

Once again both months nothing special happend and I have not much to tell about them.

In the beginning of December I got two weeks off and mom and I went to London. We did a lot of shopping and some sightseeing. I made a blogpost about the pictures I made. Click here if you want to read it.

On 11th of december I had a party with my work and I decided to buy a special dress for the party.

On the 21st of december Simon and I went to see Serious Request in Heerlen. A city near where I live. There is a house of glass and the djs are locked into the house for a whole week with no food. They only drink smoothies.

This was my 2015! I hope you had a really nice 2015 and hopefully 2016 will be better!

Music Of The Year, Part 2: Eurovision

Music Of The Year, Part 2: Eurovision

Today I have part 2 of Music Of The Year and today I will talk about my favourite Eurovision songs. Last week I made part 1, if you haven’t seen it check it out (here). It is a pretty long list, because I also included some songs from the pre-selections! Let’s start.

Preselection Denmark

Anne Gadegaard – Suitcase.

The Danish pre-selection was pretty dissapointing this year and I only have one favourite and that is Suitcase by Ann Gadegaard. I really love the style of the song. The studio version is a bit better than the live version. Denmark didn’t choose her to go to Eurovision.

Latvian Pre-Selection.

Markus Riva – Take Me Down.

I knew Markus Riva from the latvian pre-selection in 2014. Back then he participated with Lights on, but he didn’t win. This year he was back with a different song then last year. I really love this song a lot and I love his voice. It may not be the strongest voice, but it is good. He didn’t win and I was really dissapointed. (I still am). Hopefully he will participate next year again!

Finnish Pre-Selection.

Satin Circus – Crossroads

I was watching a YouTube video with all the Finnish Participants and when I saw this song I fell in love with it. I really love this song and this is probably my most played pre-selection song. I was pretty sure that this song was going to Eurovision, but then it didn’t…. And I was really dissapointed, because Finland sended the worst song of this year to Eurovision and they didn’t reach the final. Satin Circus, please come back in 2016.

The Swedish Pre-selection is my favourite to watch.

Ellen Benediktson – Insomnia.

She changed a lot since 2014 and this year I really loved her song! I love dance songs. Her 2014 song was pretty boring, but this years song is amazing. Sadly the Swedish voters didn’t share my thoughts and she didn’t even reach the final.

Behrang Miri Ft. Victor Crone РDet Rar Vi Inte För.

First of all¬†a song in their own language. I love songs in their own language, eventhought I don’t understand a single thing, I love it. I knew Behrang already, but together with Victor Crone they made an amazing song. Again Sweden didn’t share my opinion and they reached Andra Chansen (Second Chance), but no Final.

Dinah Nah – Make Me LaLaLa.

This song has grown on me and now it is one of my favourite songs! I love these kind of songs. This song reached the final of Melodifestivalen and I was really happy about that!

Mariette – Don’t Stop Believing.

If Mans didn’t win Melodifestivalen, this would be my second choice. The lyrics of this song are so beautiful and they make me have a postive feeling.¬†I¬†didn’t see the semi-final where she was in, so I¬†heard the song for the first¬†live in the¬†final.¬†I love her style on stage and her voice.

Eurovision Songs.

And now let’s go to my favourite Eurovision songs this year!

Germany – Ann Sophie – Black Smoke.

Germany, my neighbour country! I really loved their song this year. Ann Sophie is a great singer, but she didn’t deserve 0 points in the final. There were songs that were so worse and even they got a better place then her. Anyways she had a great performance¬† and she deserved to be there!

Belarus – Uzari & Maimuna – Time.

This song has grown so much on me, after their released their videoclip this song became one of my favourites. I played their song all the time! When they didn’t reach the Eurovision Final, I was dissapointed. Even more dissapointed¬†about them then my own country (sorry Trijntje).

Estonia РElina Born Ft. Stig Rästa РGoodbye To Yesterday.

Elina Born & Stig Rästa

I loved this song from the beginning, but it kind of reminded me of the Dutch entry in 2014. This was one of the possible winners this year and Estonia did a great job choosing them! I loved their performance on stage.

Sweden РMans Zelmerlöw РHeroes.

My number one favourite! This is the winner of Eurovision and my favourite. I knew Mans already before he participate at Melodifestivalen 2015. Since I watch Melodifestivalen I got to know some great artists, including Mans. Since the first time I heard this song, I loved it so much and for me this was and is the winner of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

Belgium – Loic Nottet – Rythm Inside.

Belgium was for me the darkhorse of this years Eurovision. This song is inspired by a song by Lorde and it did very well in Vienna. Belgium was one of the possible winners to. I liked the song from the start and I must say this song grown on me. Loic has a unique voice, which you can recognize out of thousands. Well done Belgium!

Australia – Guy Sebastian – Tonight Again.

I actually thougt this song would win Eurovision! When I heard this song for the first time I was really impressed. This is really top 40 material and I played this song over and over again! After Eurovision I have listened to this song a lot.  He became my worthy number 2.

Slovenia – Maraaya – Here For You.

Her voice is amazing and also like Loic Nottet a unique voice. I also really like the style of their song and I also have played this song a lot. This song was also a possible winner.

Norway – Debrah Scarlett & Morland – A Monster Like Me.

Before Eurovision In Concert I liked this song after Eurovision In Concert I loved it, so much. It such a beautiful song and I am not a ballad person, but this song is so amazing. Norway got my third place.

United Kingdom – Electro Velvet – Still In Love With You.

You all probably will think what the hell…. Well this song my was guilty pleasure this year! I kinda love it and Electro Velvet are really nice in real life! I hoped it would do good, but I didn’t. But still I kinda love this song. Well their perfomance was really nice.

Azerbaijan – Elnur Huseynov – Hour Of The Wolf.

Back in 2008 Elnur participated with samir for Azerbaijan and this year he was back with a beautiful song. I really like this song, but I didn’t like his performance itself on Eurovision. For this song the performance was a bit to busy and I didn’t really understand it.

Israel – Nadav Guedj – Golden Boy.

Let’s party with Israel! Israel surpised me this year with their party song and Europe loved it to! Between all these songs israel was one of the songs that stood out!

Georgia – Nina Sublatti – Warrior.

This song went from non-favourite to favourite in three minutes. That is the main reason she got in this blogpost. Her Eurovision performance was amazing and she was really good. A very strong contestant.

Who are you Eurovision favourites?

TV shows I want to start watching

As we all know I love watching tv shows and you probably know most of my favourite tv shows, like The Walking Dead, Supernatural, etc. Today I want to show you which tv shows I want to start watching.

1. Scream Queens.

Since this week Scream Queens airs on Dutch television. The trailer looks promising and it is a horror – comedy show. Horror is totally my thing but comedy not. Still I give this tv show a chance.

Scream Queens first season focuses on the Kappa Kappa Tau Sorority at Wallace University. The sorority is threatened by Dean Cathy Munsch leading to events that reignite a 20 year old murder mystery with the reemergence of the serial killer dressed as the Red Devil mascot, who begins targeting the sorority members.

2. Marvel Jessica Jones.

I have a contract with Netflix and that means I recently see tv shows that looks promising! Recently they added Jessica Jones. I am not a huge Marvel fan, but this tv show looks really nice and as soon as I ended my other tv shows on Netflix I will start this tv show.

Following a tragic end to her brief superhero career, Jessica Jones tries to rebuild her life as a private investigator, dealing with cases involving people with remarkable abilities in New York.

3. Prison Break.

I know this tv show is a bit older than the others, but I really want to watch it! I think I really will love the storyline and in all these year I never watched it before, so there will surprises for me. This tv show is also on Netflix, so I will watch it on Netflix.

The first season follows the rescue of Lincoln Burrows, who is accused of murdering Terrence Steadman, the brother of Vice President of the United States Caroline Reynolds. Lincoln is sentenced to death and is incarcerated in Fox River State Penitentiary where he awaits his execution. Lincoln’s brother Michael Scofield is convinced of Lincoln’s innocence and formulates an escape plan.

4. Outcast.

If you say horror and The Walking Dead you have my full attention! Outcast is from the producer of The Walking Dead and a horror tv show. Fox will air it in 2016, but I didn’t see a specific date yet! The trailer looked amazing and I am really curious if this is as good as it looks.

A young man searches for answers as to why he’s been suffering from supernatural possessions his entire life.

5. The 100.

This tv show is a post-apocalyptic drama, which I really like, (post-apocalyptic drama). I don’t know how good it is but reading the plot makes me excited. Hopefully it won’t dissapoint me.

Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity’s lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet.

6. Lost.

Another tv show that is older and ended a long time ago. I have seen the ending, a friend showed me, which made me excited for this tv show. At the time I had no time to watch all my tv shows and this one, but soon I will start watching Lost.

The survivors of a plane crash are forced to work together in order to survive on a seemingly deserted tropical island

Last week I went to London for 4 days and I had an amazing time in my favourite city. Today I will show you London in pictures.

We travelled by bus and by boat to London. On our first day we went to a place called Canterbury, because if we would arrive in London it would have been Rush hour and then there wasn’t enough time.

The hotel we were at was not in London, but in Stevenage. It was a ibis styles hotel.

The weather in London was really nice, we had a lot of sun. The last two days were very windy but that was because there was a storm ahead of us. Gladly we drove home before the storm really hit London.

We did some sightseeing and also a lot of shopping. Atleast I did a lot of shopping, maybe a little bit to much. But sometimes you just have to give yourself some presents.

There are a lot of squirrels in St.James park and I managed to take a picture of one of them. These pictures turned out to be my favourite of the whole trip.

Isn’t the squirrel cute!

We also went to see the White Riffs, but the weather was pretty bad. I just got out of the bus very quick and took some pictures.

Music Of The Month November

Music Of The Month November

Goodbye November and Hello December! The last month of this year arrived again! But first a new music of the month. This month I have a few songs which are from early this year and  from Eurovision.

Guy Sebastian – Tonight Again.

Australia participated for the first time in Eurovision this year with an amazing song! I really could have seen this song entering the top 40, it is really not an eurovision song. It had a great chance to win Eurovision. Guy is a great singer and this month I have been listening to this song a lot.

Mariette – Don’t Stop Believing.

Mans Zelmerlöw was my winner of Melodifestivalen 2015, but this song was my second song to win it. The lyrics of this song are so beautiful and everytime I am listening to this song I remember how good this song is. Mariette is really a good singer!

Adele – Hello.

This is the song were everyone was talking about when it was released and I must say it is a damn good song! Adele is an amazing singer and I have been listening to it on repeat. This is probably the song I listenend the most this month.

You Me At Six – Loverboy.

This song is my all time favourite song from You Me At Six. This is how I got to know them. I rediscovered this song this month, because I haven’t listened to them a lot the past few months. I love this song!

Loic Nottet – Rythm Inside.

Another Eurovision song this month I listened to a lot is the song from Loic Nottet. He represented Belgium this year and I love this song. It is sort of a Lorde song, but it sounds great! Belgium did a very good job sending him and for me it was a possible winner.

Which songs did you listen the most?
